In a celebration of African innovation to combat poverty, the inaugural FINCA Ventures Prize Competition has awarded $400,000 in grants to twelve social enterprises across Sub-Saharan Africa. FINCA Ventures, based in the U.S., organized the competition, aimed at empowering entrepreneurs tackling critical issues like healthcare access, agricultural development, financial inclusion, and the protection of vulnerable groups. Winners addressed various challenges, from improving value for local farmers to bridging healthcare gaps and combating exploitation. The competition reflects FINCA International's forty-year commitment to global poverty eradication.

Among the winners, Rio Fish, Bena Care, and others received recognition for their impactful solutions. Winners received grants ranging from $70,000 for first place to $10,000 for third place, showcasing the diverse range of initiatives making a difference in the region.
