U.S.-based real estate and property development company Foutch Architecture and Development, supermarkets chain Hy-Vee and Kansas City officials commemorated the official opening of the new indoor arena Hy-Vee Arena.
Foutch Architecture and Development invested more than $39 million in the infrastructure and repurposed the building, originally built for spectator performances and sporting events, into a multi-use, state-of-the-art recreational facility.
The Kemper arena design includes more than 84,000 square feet of sports and event space. When fully occupied, Hy-Vee arena will feature about 40 businesses including six restaurants, an arcade, games, as well as sports training and medical businesses.
The Kansas City Council sold Kemper Arena to Foutch a year and a half ago.
