U.S. vehicle manufacturer General Motors plans to invest $20 million in its GM Propulsion plant on Ecorse Road in Romulus, Michigan.

The company intends to acquire new machines and boost production of 10-speed transmissions.

In Romulus, the automaker builds V-6 engines and 10-speed transmissions for various GM cars, trucks and crossovers.

Recently, General Motors revealed that it plans to infuse $36 million to fund the production of popular crossover vehicles.
