U.S. investment bank and financial services company Goldman Sachs’ Principal Strategic Investments Group has injected $20 million in GitLab, a financial technology firm.

Goldman made the investment partially based on input from its own engineers, who started using GitLab’s software at the beginning of the year.

The $20 million commitment in GitLab was part of a Series D financing round that valued the company at $1.1 billion.

Previously, GitLab had announced that California-based investment firm Iconiq Capital led its Series D round.
