U.S. cancer research facility and hospital operator Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) is planning the extension of its patient care facility with a $129 million investment.

As part of the expansion, HCI has received a $30 million funding from Huntsman Family Foundation. The extension project is now able to develop from 102,000 square feet of new space to 200,000 square feet and from four to eight stories.

The new facility will include an extended wellness center, four floors of clinical space, two floors to house faculty offices and two floors available for future build-out based on cancer patient needs.

The building is scheduled to start in December 2019 and the facility is expected to be inaugurated is September 2022.
