U.S. waste management and recycling services company Heritage Environmental and Mexican zinc oxide, zinc sulfate, and zinc dust producer Zinc Nacional joint venture (JV) intends to establish shop in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana.

The JV, Waelz Sustainable Products LLP, intends to commit $75 million to construct a 30-acre Waelz kiln facility at the former BorgWarner campus in the Delaware County city.

The plant will be used for the manufacture of zinc oxide from steel mill byproducts. Waelz Sustainable said that when fully operational, it will be able to process 100,000 tons of materials each year.

The scheme, which is anticipated to create up to 90 jobs over the next several years, is expected to be operational by late 2020.
