U.S. real estate investment firm KBS Capital Markets Group, a unit of KBS Strategic Opportunity REIT Inc., plans to start a $10.5 million refurbishment of the Granite Tower this spring.

Granite Tower, a 31-story, 591,070 square feet building at 1099 18th St. in Denver, Colorado, is 96.59 percent occupied. Refurbishments at the building will start in May and be wrapped up in the first quarter of 2020.

The highlight will be a new amenity floor that will span the entire third level of the building, an open lounge and outdoor deck overlooking downtown, a new conference facility and a new gym with group workout classes, Peloton bikes and locker rooms.

Moreso, the upgrade will also include a bright and transparent architectural pavilion that will extend the main lobby and ground-floor common area, supporting a new food and beverage operation expanding to the modernized outdoor gathering space.
