U.S.-based food company Kraft Heinz and rival Mondelez International have been shortlisted to attend in the second for Campbell Soup's international business.

Campbell Soup, an American producer of canned soups and related products, could fetch close to $3 billion for its international business. Kraft Heinz and Mondelez have interest in the assets to boost their international footprint.

Other companies including U.S.-based venture capital firms Bain Capital LP, KKR & Co and FinTrek Capital Hong Kong Co Ltd could also be shortlisted to participate in Campbell Soup's second round.

The divestment of Campbell Soup’s international portfolio, which includes Bolthouse Farms and Garden Fresh Gourmet, will reduce its $8 billion debt pile and help the company focus on its core North American market.
