U.S.-based healthcare company Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital intends to invest about $27.5 million in a new 31,860 square foot outpatient facility in Skokie.

The Skokie facility will consist of medical offices for pediatric primary and speciality care physicians, 23 exam rooms and diagnostic testing, including X-ray and ultrasound capabilities.

The construction is slated to start in September and close by July 2021, subject to review of board scheduled on the application on June 4.

Recently, Lurie inaugurated a 20-bed intermediate-care unit for patients who are too sick for general inpatient care but don’t need an intensive-care unit.
