U.S. home goods e-commerce company Wayfair Inc. is planning to build a 1 million square foot facility in Savannah.

Wayfair intends to commit $45 million into the facility over the next five years.

With the investment, the company expects to continue to scale its logistics operations to support the rapid growth of its business. The project is expected to bring 1,000 jobs in Georgia.

Wayfair, which employs close to 11,000 people at offices and warehouses throughout North America and Europe, generates revenue of $5.2 billion annually.
