U.S. container seaport and distribution center Port of Gulfport has wrapped up a $570 million extension and renovation project.

The port has developed to 300 acres almost is twice the size before the expansion project.

In addition to extending, the port was raised to combat flooding and new warehouses and other facilities were added.

Part of the expansion project was done to enable the facility to handle military cargo. The project has created 557 new jobs at the port.
