U.S.-based private equity firm Real Estate Technology Ventures (RET Ventures), has closed its first fund at $108 million.

The fund, Real Estate Technology Ventures I, will focus on identifying and investing in disruptive real estate technology companies for the North American multifamily industry and its 40 million-plus rental units.

The investment came from limited partners including five major multifamily real estate investment trusts (REITs), Apartment Investment and Management Co., Boardwalk, Essex, MidAmerica, and United Dominion Realty, as well as Starwood Capital Group, Cortland, and GID.

Most recently, RET Ventures led a $5 million Series A round for U.S.-based real estate platform SmartRent.
