U.S. marine terminal and rail yard operations company SSA Marine, a subsidiary of Carrix Inc., plans to build a $238.7 million international container terminal at Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida.

The container terminal, dubbed SSA Jacksonville International Gateway Terminal, will stretch around 80 acres at Blount Island but has the potential to reach 120 acres.

SSA Jacksonville International Gateway Terminal, which will be an extension of the company’s current agreement on Blount Island, will now be able to service larger container comes from the Asian and Pacific lines.

The terminal project, unanimously approved by the Jacksonville Port Authority Board, is anticipated to create over 3,000 jobs and has a revenue projection of at least $158 million over 25 years.
