Washington-based Tableau Software, a business intelligence and analytics software company, has agreed to be purchased by Salesforce, a cloud-based software company.

The $15.7 billion all-stock deal is expected to form a leading customer relationship management analytics platform while also boosting Salesforce’s opportunity in the digital transformation.

The transaction is expected to give Tableau Software, which booked $282.46 million in revenue in the three months ended March 31, 2019, a market capitalisation of $10.79 billion.

Additionally, the acquisition is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2019, following shareholder and regulatory green lights.
