California-based technology major Apple Inc. announced that it plans to construct a $1 billion campus in Austin, Texas.

Apple said that its aims also include setting up locations in Seattle, San Diego and Culver City, California, with over 1,000 employees at each.

The company added that the new campus in Austin, which will be less than a mile from existing Apple facilities, will begin with 5,000 employees and provide jobs covering research and development, engineering, finance, operations, sales and customer support.

Furthermore, Apple revealed that it aims to extend in New York, Pittsburgh and Colorado over the next three years.
