U.S.-based technology giant Google has acquired a manufacturing building in Palo Alto from satellite maker SSL.

Google paid approximately $70 million for the 100,693 square foot building to U.S.-based space technology company Maxar Technologies, SSL’s parent company.

The acquired property consists of Building 1, where approximately 400 SSL engineers currently working on the design and production of satellites.

Maxar, which will use the results from this transaction to pay down debt, still owns roughly 24 acres of facilities in Palo Alto.
