TerViva Bioenergy, Inc., an agricultural technology company, has raised $20 million in a Series D investment round.

Backers in the round included Evans Properties and Jeremy and Hannelore Grantham Environmental Trust.

With the new funds, TerViva will boost research connecting the pongamia bean's valuable functional properties to critical processing and product development partnerships that will demonstrate the commercial viability of pongamia protein and oil.

Additionally, the company will also use the money raised from the round to grow its infrastructure to supply farmers with its patented high-yielding oilseed trees in Florida and Hawaii.
