U.S. private equity and growth capital firm Thoma Bravo LLC is holding discussions to acquire McAfee, a computer security software company, for over $4.2 billion.

Thoma Bravo LLC intends to acquire McAfee from U.S.-based TPG Capital and technology company Intel Corp.

Last month, the company revealed the purchase of U.S. application security company Veracode from semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions developer Broadcom Inc. for $950 million.

Whereas In October, Thoma Bravo LLC said that it bought California-based cybersecurity software and services company Imperva Inc for $2.1 billion.
