Las Vegas-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) aims to commit $13 million in a new training center in Shanghai, China.

With the investment, The Ultimate expects to push and develop mixed martial arts in the country.

The 93,000-square-foot center, expected to open next year, will feature MMA coaches, nutritionists, physical therapists and sports scientists.

The facility will also become UFC’s Asia headquarters and have built-in spectator seating so the organization can produce live events on-site.
