U.S. health care company UnitedHealthcare revealed that it has exceeded $400 million in commitments in new affordable housing.

The move is part of UnitedHealthcare’s ongoing efforts to remove social barriers to better health for people in underserved communities.

UnitedHealthcare has infused in 80 affordable-housing communities across the U.S. with over 4,500 new homes for individuals and families in need.

Additionally, the company has opened PATH Metro Villas, a new 65-unit housing center, following a $12 million investment, for people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles.
