U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Venture Global LNG Inc. has got a green light for its proposed $4.5 billion Calcasieu Pass LNG export terminal in Louisiana.

The Calcasieu Pass terminal is designed to produce around 10 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG or around 1.3 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas.

The company, which got approval from The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, expects Calcasieu Pass to enter service in 2022.

Venture Global is also developing the $8.5 billion 20-MTPA Plaquemines LNG export facility in Louisiana, expected to enter service in 2023.
