U.S.-based financial services company Visa Inc plans to acquire UK-based payments firm Earthport Plc for around 198 million pounds ($250.3 million).

Visa, through its Visa International Service Association, has offered $0.38 for each Earthport share.

French investment bank and financial services company Rothschild & Co and Goldman Sachs advised Earthport and Visa on the deal.

Earthport revealed that Visa’s offer was a revised proposal that followed an indicative offer from the U.S. company last month.
