U.S. mass media and entertainment company Walt Disney Co. has completed its $71.3 billion purchase of peer Fox Corp.

Following the deal, Disney owns 20th Century Fox Film and Television studios, the FX stable of networks, National Geographic, and the Fox-related cable and international television businesses, like Star India.

The transaction has also made Disney the majority owner of Hulu because of Fox's 30 percent stake in Hulu, combined with Disney's existing 30 percent stake.

With the acquisition, Fox will now focus on news and sports in the U.S.
