Werner Enterprises Inc., a U.S.-based transportation and logistics company, plans to begin building its truck training and maintenance (T&M) facility in Palmer Township.

The facility, which will be 67,000 square feet and sit on 50 acres of land, will cost an estimated amount of more than $30 million.

Werner Enterprises also bought the land, with two farms, which will use only a portion for the truck facility and the other portion for agriculture.

Construction of the facility will take nine months, and will be inaugurated at the end of the year. The company will have about 40 employees when it opens and that could grow over the next two to three years by about 10 percent.
