U.S. agriculture company WholeStone Farms plans to make an investment to upgrade Austin-based food processing company Hormel Foods' plant in Fremont.

Hormel agreed to sell the Fremont plant to WholeStone Farms for $30 million.

The plant will undergo two phases of renovations with WholeStone investing nearly $150 million and ultimately work up to a double shift.

All of those renovations will be underway or completed by the end of 2019.
