U.S.-based Zūm, the ridesharing startup for kids, has completed with $40 million in Series C funding.

With the capital raised, Zūm will extend its proven business model and increase school partnerships throughout the country to serve markets beyond California, with a goal to double its footprint by 2020.

The round, which brings the company’s total funding to $67 million, was led by BMW i Ventures alongside NGP Capital, Volvo Cars Tech Fund, Clearvision, Draper Nexus and existing investors Sequoia Capital and Spark Capital.

Moreso, the company will also develop its proprietary technology platform for addressing all school transportation needs.
