The Zambian President has inaugurated the upgraded plant of Zambian Breweries Plc, a key player in Zambia's economic landscape. Valued at $80 million, the facility aims to stimulate sustainable economic growth and job creation in the region. Zambian Breweries is a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, a Belgian drink and brewing giant, boasting over four hundred beer brands and a global workforce of two hundred thousand employees across fifty countries. The brewery, with a commitment to corporate social responsibility, supports local farmers through an out-grower scheme, benefiting over four thousand sorghum and cassava farmers, among others. The company's investment aligns with the government's focus on attracting additional investments to foster economic development and job opportunities in Zambia.

In December 2023, Zambian Breweries, which produces the iconic Zambian beer dubbed Mosi Lager, collaborated with the World Wide Fund for Nature for an initiative aimed at enhancing the productivity and resilience of the Kafue lower sub-catchment. Zambian Breweries, listed on the Lusaka Securities Exchange, plays a crucial role in national economic initiatives like the Lusaka Multi-Facility Economic Zone programme, contributing to the country's tax income and economic vitality.
