Zimbabwe-based ammonium nitrate manufacturer Sable Chemicals intends to inject approximately $25 million in a bid to boost production over the next two years.

Sable Chemicals said that its target production for 2019 is 100,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate which will account for 60 percent of Zimbabwe’s fertilizers.

Moreso, the company aims to produce 150,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate by 2020 and wrapping up to 200,000 tonnes by 2022.

Sable Chemicals also plans to localize the sourcing of ammonia gas which is currently being imported from neighboring South Africa.
