Ivorian Prime Minister has inaugurated Abidjan's fourth bridge, the Y4 bypass, and urban highways, funded by the African Development Bank Group. The infrastructure, costing 160 million euros ($175.2 million), spans Banco Bay, connecting Plateau, Adjamé, and Yopougon, with twenty-four tollbooths facilitating daily travel for seventy thousand vehicles. The project, part of the Abidjan Urban Transport Project, aims to ease congestion, benefitting the city's two million inhabitants. The African Development Bank contributed $657 million, with additional funding from the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Global Environment Facility.

The newly opened infrastructure enhances connectivity between Abidjan's port and international corridors, benefitting landlocked nations like Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. With a focus on multiple aspects, including the environment and social issues, the project aligns with the African Development Bank's operational priorities. In addition to the bridge, the Ivorian Prime Minister inaugurated trunk roads, further improving transportation within the city. The project, spanning over five years, aims to transform Abidjan, reducing travel time and improving living conditions. The investment is set to impact the lives of thousands, particularly women engaged in income-generating activities.
