In 2024, Morocco's Casablanca region is set to undergo significant road development projects to alleviate heavy congestion resulting from the rising number of vehicles on the roads. The plans include the construction of a new highway connecting Berrechid and Tit Mellil, the Casablanca bypass, and the final stretches of the Berrechid-Casablanca highway. This initiative aims to address traffic challenges, particularly in the southern area of Casablanca, easing congestion around the international airport. Casablanca, one of Morocco's most economically active regions, will witness these infrastructure enhancements. Additionally, a $494 million project is underway to build a 60-kilometer highway linking Casablanca and Rabat, scheduled for completion by 2026.

The Ministry of the Interior and Morocco's road company, Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM), collaboratively oversee this development, passing close to the new Benslimane stadium designated for the 2025 African Cup of Nations and 2030 World Cup co-hosting. ADM, managing these projects, anticipates a 3 percent budget increase to $375.4 million for 2024 compared to the previous year.
