Chinese environmental protection firm Shidai Tiancheng Environmental Tech has landed a $26.1 million contract to build an electronics dismantling plant in Ghana.

Shidai Tiancheng and Safebond Car Terminal, a Ghanaian transport service provider, have inked a deal in Jiangsu province. The facility will handle 40,000 to 50,000 tons of electronics a year and Shidai Tiancheng will handle planning and design, equipment procurement and construction.

The plant will use a series of dismantling and processing lines which employ smart logistics and human-assisted dismantling techniques to take apart computers, televisions and other display screens.

After building the facility, Tiancheng will offer its partner a range of products services, such as tests and inspections, operating manuals and staff training plans, for a year.
