Chinese international trade services provider Zhongcheng Import and Export Co., Ltd announced that it has inked a 4.8 billion Kenyan shillings ($47.8 million) contract to construct a medical facility in Machakos County, Kenya.

Zhongcheng signed the contract with Kenya-based Lianard Holding Ltd, Lyed Holding Co., Ltd., which will lead the establishment of the development named Kenya Lakeside Medical City Project consisting of 220 beds and 300 apartment units.

Zhongcheng said that the project will include a general hospital with 220 beds, 13,400 square meters, and 300 apartments, 25,500 square meters.

In September 2018, Kenyatta National Hospital revealed that it would start building a $30 million center that will accommodate a cancer hostel, burns unit, 24-bed intensive care unit and children’s wing.
