Indian digital and mobile entertainment platform Hotstar plans to invest 120 crore rupees ($16.8 million) in generating original content.
The company’s plan is to spend the funds on Hotstar Specials.
Hotstar said that depending on the performance, the budget could be expanded by an additional $7 million.
The company, which has bagged a total of $73.1 million in over 1 funding round, generates $1.9 billion in revenue annually.
