Israeli defence electronics company Elbit Systems has secured a new contract for the delivery of naval remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWS) to an Asia-Pacific customer.

Valued at approximately $173 million, the contract will be carried out for a period of five years and RCWS systems will be used by the navy and coastguard of an Asia-Pacific country.

Under the deal, the company will be responsible for supplying lightweight, fully stabilized dual-axis naval RCWS for installation on a wide range of navy vessels.

The weapon stations will feature a 12.7-millimeter machine gun and ammunition, in addition to Elbit Systems’ advanced fire control system and modular electro-optic suite.
