UK-based convenience retailing company The Co-operative Group (The Co-op) plans to inaugurate 100 new stores and renovate 200 others with 200 million pounds ($255.1 million) investment.

The Co-Op, which plans to open 100 new stores in 2019, will also invest in a core convenience estate which has seen over four years of consecutive sales growth.

The new stores, to be opened in London and the South East, will enhance expansion in and around the M25, motorway in London..

Further, Co-Op will also extend its stores in Scotland, with around 40 new or revamped stores, facilitated by the new distribution centre opened last year.
