U.S. investment company Star Capital is acquiring Ireland-based aviation services company ASL Aviation Holdings, a unit of Belgian maritime company Compagnie Maritime Belge (CMB), in a transaction worth over 200 million euros ($225.3 million).

Star Capital agreed to acquire the 51 percent of ASL Aviation owned by CMB and the 49 percent held by Irish aircraft to operational carriers leasing company 3P Air Freighters.

ASL Aviation Holdings said that the transaction will provide a foundation for future development. The company added that it will work with Star Capital to continue extending the services it offers customers and further extend into new regions.

Last year, Star Capital acquired a majority stake in Irish cash logistics services firm General Secure Logistics Services in a transaction valued at around $33.7 million.
