Vietnam-based dairy producer Vinamilk has plashed out some 4 trillion dongs ($171.3 million) to develop a 6,000 hectares complex of high technology dairy farms in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho under a newly-inked agreement with food processing company Song Hau Farm Corporation.

The project will include a large-scale dairy farm, capable of breeding up to 22,000 heads of cows, and a processing factory.

The company expects to make a significant influence on the local economy by creating a new industry for producing beef, dairy and cattle feed.

Once the project is operational, Vinamilk will create a large-scale farm covering thousands of hectares to grow livestock feed and provide thousands of jobs for local people.
